Movember and “Mustaschkampen” are common terms in November in Sweden. “Mustaschkampen” is the Prostate Cancer Association’s annual campaign to benefit research, development and education related to Sweden’s most common form of cancer; prostate cancer.
MODIG want to support their campaign and create awareness and spread knowledge about Prostate cancer during this month. Prostate cancer is one of the most common type of cancer. The disease can affect any man, and it affects more than 10,000 Swedish men each year. More than 230,000 American men each year. More than 65,820 German men each year. We can continue country by country, but the conclusion is the same – that it is far too many.
A PSA test is carried out to detect prostate cancer. PSA is short for prostate-specific antigen, which is a protein substance, an enzyme, which is naturally found in the body even in healthy men. A PSA test is taken through a blood test. You can contact a health care center to do a PSA test. It is recommended that men with a family history of prostate cancer should take a PSA test from the age of 40. If there is no genetic history, it is recommended that all men from the age of 50 take the PSA test.
Be safe and stay healthy!
