Next-Level Machining at IMTS & AMB: Live Technology Demonstrations Focused on Productivity

This September, visitors to IMTS 2026 in Chicago and AMB 2026 in Stuttgart will experience a broad range of machining technologies designed to improve productivity, flexibility, and manufacturing performance. At the center of the exhibition will be live demonstrations from MODIG, IBARMIA, and LiCON, showcasing advanced machining solutions developed for demanding aerospace, automotive, energy, and industrial applications.

Live Machining, Real Manufacturing Challenges

Throughout both exhibitions, visitors will have the opportunity to see machining technologies operating under production-focused conditions. The demonstrations are designed to highlight process stability, efficiency, machining performance, and the practical advantages advanced manufacturing technologies can bring to modern production environments.

MODIG Mill-Ex2: High-Speed Aluminum Machining

MODIG will showcase the Mill-Ex2, a dual-spindle high-speed machining center developed for aluminum components in aerospace and automotive applications. Featuring independently driven spindles and axes, the machine enables continuous machining with high dynamics, precise control, and exceptional flexibility. Designed to reduce cycle times, footprint, and cost per part, Mill-Ex2 delivers efficient material removal and optimized throughput while maintaining the accuracy required for complex aluminum structures.

Mill-Ex2 provides the ability to load new raw material while machining, with the benefit of no unproductive time and outstanding service accessibility, where easy access for maintenance is essential.

IBARMIA T SERIES Multiprocess: Flexibility in a Single Setup

IBARMIA will present solutions from its T SERIES Multiprocess range, developed for medium and large, complex, high-value components requiring power, precision and flexibility. By integrating milling, turning, drilling and other advanced processes in a single setup, these machines reduce part handling, transfers between machines and non-productive time.

The configurable architecture combines powerful spindles, high-capacity rotary tables and a choice of A- or B-axis tilting heads, providing broad machining access and stable performance across demanding applications. Pallet-changing and automation solutions can also be integrated to increase autonomy, productivity and uptime, enabling manufacturers to simplify production flows and complete a wider range of operations with fewer machines.

LiCON LiFLEX II 776 i³ PC: Precision for High-Volume Production

For manufacturers focused on high-volume production, LiCON will demonstrate the LiFLEX II 776 i³ PC twin-spindle machining center. Equipped with a pallet changer and LiCON’s advanced i³-technology, the machine is designed to deliver maximum precision, productivity, and repeatability.

Integrated sensors and intelligent algorithms continuously compensate for thermal influences and enable independent compensation of both spindles across all three axis. The result is highly stable production performance, consistent machining quality, and reliable precision from the first part onward. During IMTS, the machine will showcase simultaneous machining and advanced multi-axis capabilities through live demonstrations.

Integrated Manufacturing Solutions with Seco Tools

A key element of the IMTS presentation is the collaboration with Seco Tools. By bringing together expertise in machine tools, cutting tools, and manufacturing processes, the partnership demonstrates how integrated solutions can help manufacturers improve productivity, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.

Seco contributes expertise throughout the production process, including component and fixture design, tooling strategy, machining, verification, and cleaning. Combined with the advanced machining technologies on display, visitors will gain insight into how optimized machine and tooling combinations can reduce cycle times, improve process reliability, and lower production costs.

Experience the Technology Live
