Together, Orizon Aerostructures and Modig Machine Tool have established the world’s largest installation of RigiMill gantries and moving table machines. This strategic partnership has enabled the implementation of cutting-edge machining and tooling technologies, resulting in some of the most advanced manufacturing techniques in the aerospace industry. A collaboration that has redefined the aerospace machining capabilities.
Orizon differentiates itself within the aerospace manufacturing sector through full utilization of advanced machine tool capabilities and its proprietary manufacturing methodology. The process incorporates high-efficiency material removal rates, hydraulic and vacuum fixturing, robotic tool changes, and program-controlled sequential clamping and actuation – allowing fully automated production without direct machinist intervention.
“Utilizing Modig RigiMill technology and Orizon’s intellectual property, we have demonstrated the ability to manufacture some of the most geometrically complex aerospace components with significantly reduced cycle times, superior dimensional accuracy, and the elimination of secondary operations.” – Bill Tehel, General Manager, Orizon Aerostructures

The relationship between Orizon and Modig dates back to the 1990s, when Orizon founders Charlie and Henry Newell collaborated with Percy Modig in the extrusion machining space, utilizing Modig HHV solutions. Today, that legacy continues through a strong partnership with David Modig, Chairman of Modig Machine Tool. Together, we have built the largest RigiMill cell in the world, comprising 14 moving gantry machines and one moving table system.
”As demand for Orizon products continues to grow, Modig and Orizon are working to expand the RigiMill cell. This investment not only strengthens our operational capabilities but also deepens our longstanding relationship with Modig, reinforcing our shared commitment to innovation and excellence in aerospace manufacturing.” – Bill Tehel, General Manager, Orizon Aerostructures
“We deeply value our partnership with Orizon Aerostructures. Their dedication to pushing the boundaries of aerospace manufacturing aligns with our mission at Modig to deliver the most advanced and reliable machining solutions. How they utilize the RigiMill platform for their complex components is truly impressive. Together, we continue to drive innovation and advance the next generation of aerospace manufacturing.” – David Modig, Chairman, Modig Machine Tool
